Project Title:
Vocational School
Year of Completion:
Spring 2022
Typology:
Educational
The vocational school was designed to be built in Seville, Spain. The concept of the project is that interacting with nature is beneficial to the learning process. To achieve this, the outdoors is used as the main point of circulation. This works well with the site as Seville has many hot days and not much rain. The school has 3 stories and a living roof, which adds to the green space. Many buildings there are made up of multiple heights, allowing this one to fit right into its infill condition. The materials used for the building are limestone, which is native to Spain, and wood, which helps connect the occupants to nature. The building also uses a glulam column and CTL floor slab structure.
